At NMIMS Shirpur, our objective has always been to provide a holistic education to all our students in order to prepare them not only for their careers, but also to prepare them for life. In order to meet this endeavor, learning-outside-the-classrooms becomes as important as the learning that takes place inside the classrooms. Technical and cultural clubs and activities are an integral part of this learning process.

Narsee Monjee Model United Nations, or NMMUN as it is better known, is a very popular event that is hosted at our riverside Shirpur campus each year. The event, which has been held every year since 2009 onwards, is now in its 13th edition and enjoys a rich legacy. In today’s times, when the world is marred by growing divisions and people are all too ready to take sides based on misinformation or inadequate information, the relevance of a forum like NMMUN is perhaps greater than it has ever been. This event teaches students to research, rationalize and debate issues that are of vital importance to us as citizens of a common planet. Most importantly, it teaches the students how to rise above differences and work together to discuss and solve issues of global concern. The importance of this learning cannot be overemphasized as these very same students are going to be our leaders of tomorrow.

NMMUN has now become an event that enjoys active participation from students all across the country. This year, our students have worked very hard to make the event more relevant, more engaging and bigger than ever before. I congratulate them on their spirit to bring the world closer by means of discussion and wish them all the best for hosting this prestigious event.
