The Narsee Monjee Model United Nations Conference is an annual simulation of the United Nations Conference conducted by SVKM's NMIMS Shirpur Campus.
The goal of the conference is to instil a holistic approach to debate, public speaking, and current affairs. NMMUN provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to participate in global discussions. The Narsee Monjee Model MUN
Society of NMIMS continues its history of fostering diplomatic conversation in its most recent edition. With hundreds of delegates and attendees from various MUN circuits participating each year, NMMUN has achieved overall
divides and valleys. To improve the forthcoming edition for students by creating active committees, a diverse range of outstanding speakers, and unique participation possibilities, as well as fostering more vigorous debates
and constructive dialogues, workshops, and other fun activities.
The programme is being planned by students on this campus to provide attendees an understanding of how the United Nations and its many entities operate.
From the Director's Desk
At NMIMS Shirpur, our objective has always been to provide a holistic education to all our students in order to prepare them not only for their careers, but also to prepare them for life. In order to meet this endeavor, learning-outside-the-classrooms
becomes as important as the learning that takes place inside the classrooms. Technical and cultural clubs and activities are an integral part of this learning process.
Narsee Monjee Model United Nations, or NMMUN as it is better known, is a very popular event that is hosted at our riverside Shirpur campus each year. The event, which has been held every year since 2009 onwards, is
now in its 13th edition and enjoys a rich legacy. In today’s times, when the world is marred by growing divisions and people are all too ready to take sides based on misinformation or inadequate information, the relevance of
a forum like NMMUN is perhaps greater than it has ever been. This event teaches students to research, rationalize and debate issues that are of vital importance to us as citizens of a common planet. Most importantly, it teaches
the students how to rise above differences and work together to discuss and solve issues of global concern. The importance of this learning cannot be overemphasized as these very same students are going to be our leaders of
tomorrow.
NMMUN has now become an event that enjoys active participation from students all across the country. This year, our students have worked very hard to make the event more relevant, more engaging and bigger than ever
before. I congratulate them on their spirit to bring the world closer by means of discussion and wish them all the best for hosting this prestigious event.
As the name might suggest, a
Joint Crisis Committee represents a crisis scenario progressing in real-time. But the twist lies in the involvement of two committees facing
the same crisis from different sides and the unique effects that each side 's decisions have on the other's, as well as the overall crisis at hand. With a lot of fast-paced action and many twists and turns, the JCC is sure
to be a challenging and rewarding committee!
